The Palisades Rec Center is Coming Back!

We are thrilled to announce a transformative initiative to restore the beloved Palisades Recreation Center, in partnership with Lakers head coach JJ Redick's LA Strong Sports foundation and the City of LA. This privately funded project aims to revive the heart of the Palisades community, creating a vibrant space for families to gather, play, and create lasting memories for generations to come.

The vision is clear: to create a beautiful, functional, and welcoming space for everyone in the Palisades. Join us in this momentous movement to restore something truly meaningful. Let’s bring back a better Palisades Rec center—for today, for tomorrow, and for decades to come. Make an impact and join us in bringing the Palisades community back together!

This isn’t just about rebuilding a facility—it’s about restoring the spirit of the Palisades. The new rec center will be the heartbeat of the neighborhood, filled with programming for families, space to gather, and opportunities to connect like never before. We’re calling on every Palisades resident who loves this community to be part of this effort. Together, we can create a place that reflects the strength, resilience, and unity of the Palisades. Support rebuilding the Pali Rec Center now!
Early design plans were created through in-depth collaboration with key local groups, including the Pali Community Center Committee, the LA Parks Foundation, PaliStrong, Pali 4 Pali, and longtime Pali Rec Center stakeholders, namely Jimmy Dunne of Veterans Gardens, Bob Benton of the Pacific Palisades Baseball Association, and various members of the Park Advisory Board. The coalition — which includes Gensler, a globally renowned architecture and design firm, and Latham Watkins LLP, one of the world’s leading law firms – has spent hours meeting with these groups and individuals to shape the preliminary vision for a revitalized Rec Center that honors its legacy and builds toward the future. Community input in coordination with the above groups and other key stakeholders will continue to be solicited in the weeks ahead to refine and expand upon the initial plans.
