Steadfast LA Foundation Announces Collaboration with HomeAid OCLA, loanDepot, and Armanino to Power Modular Housing Initiative
Today, Steadfast LA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity affiliated with Steadfast LA, is announcing collaboration with HomeAid OCLA, loanDepot, and Armanino to power its Modular Housing Initiative - an effort to provide pre-fab housing units to eligible individuals and families who lost their homes during January’s devastating wildfires.
This collaboration brings together some of the most experienced players in the industry to manage, administer, and facilitate Steadfast LA Foundation’s grant-making process, ensuring that the recipients who receive modular housing grants have demonstrated financial need.
Wildfire victims interested in applying to the Modular Housing Initiative can learn more about the program and how to apply here: https://www.steadfastla.com/modular-home-application
Candidates for the grants will need to demonstrate that they meet the eligibility criteria, including:
· That they lost their primary residence in the LA wildfires
· That they are uninsured or have insufficient insurance coverage to rebuild
· That they have demonstrated financial need based on their income and net worth
Among other factors, long-time residency in the fire-affected communities will be considered.
The purpose of this initiative is to enable eligible fire victims to obtain newly built modular homes — a faster, cost-efficient, and resilient alternative to traditional construction — allowing them to return to their communities without facing the overwhelming time commitment or financial burden of rebuilding from scratch.
Under the collaboration:
· Steadfast LA Foundation will lead the initiative by fundraising, providing grants to help cover the cost of the modular homes, and overseeing the program's execution.
· HomeAid OCLA, an experienced non-profit specializing in post-disaster recovery and permanent housing solutions will serve as a point of contact for eligible candidates that have completed the screening process. HomeAid OCLA will guide those candidates after they have finished the screening and eligibility process on the Steadfast LA website. If a candidate does not complete the screening process or is not eligible for this Modular Housing Initiative, HomeAid OCLA will assist the candidate in identifying other possible rebuild resources.
· loanDepot, one of the nation’s leading mortgage providers, will volunteer their time and expertise to verify candidates’ financial need, insurance status, and other eligibility factors as provided by the Foundation.
· Armanino, a top national accounting and consulting firm, will donate their services to help ensure the integrity, fairness, and security of the eligibility screening process.
The modular homes will meet the standards of the California Housing and Community Development Department and will be permanently affixed to foundations.
The first grant recipients are expected to be selected in the next several weeks and the homes may be installed in as little as six months — providing a permanent, resilient solution far faster than traditional construction timelines. Fire victims in Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Pasadena may be eligible for modular housing grants if they meet the eligibility criteria. This coalition of organizations will work with grant recipients to help ensure all installed units are permitted and meet the necessary regulatory frameworks.
Steadfast LA and all of the private sector and nonprofit organizations participating in this initiative are committed to helping rebuild the Los Angeles community stronger, safer, and faster — helping to ensure that families can return not just to houses, but to vibrant, thriving communities.
